(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 17 - After triumphing as vice captains at
the Ryder Cup in Rome, the Molinari brothers, Francesco and
Eduardo, are returning to the golf course for the ninth edition
of the Andalucia Masters, with another Italian, national no 1
Guido Migliozzi. also taking part.
The tournament of the DP World Tour, In Spain from October
19-22, won't be played as usual at the Real Club Valderrama,
but at the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, at San Roque, still in
Andalusia.
The change of venue became necessary after Valderrama, the
location for the 1997 Ryder Cup, the first on continental
Europe, became a venue for events on the breakaway Arab
superleague the LIV Golf circuit.
The Italians are seeking a prestigious result in the third-last
qualifying event for the DP World Tour Championship, that last
act of the season which on November 16-19 will see the top 50 in
the Race to Dubai fight it out to become top player in the top
continental circuit.
The winner will earn 710 points, a fundamental booty in bìview
of the event in Dubai.
Currently Migliozzi is 91st on the money list while Edo
Molinarri is 102nd ahead of Francesco who is 135th.
Among the big games are Matt Kuchar and Wyndham Clark, members
of the defeated US Ryder Cup team, and Robert MacIntyre, one of
the heroes of Team Europe which won the 44th Ryder Cup at the
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club at Guidonia Montecelio,
northeast of Rome on October 1. (ANSA).
