(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 31 - Italy's second string players Matteo
Manassero, Lorenzo Scalise, Andrea Pavan and Francesco Laporta
will be vying to get onto the DP World Tour in the Rolex
Challenge Tour Grand Final on Majorca this week, the last event
on the Challenge Tour 2023 after which the top 20 will progress
to the DP Tour for next year.
If they succeed, they will join Italian No 1 Guido Migliozzi,
and numbers two and three Eduardo and Francesco Molinari, the
latter Italy's only major winner with the 2018 Open under his
belt.
At the moment, Scalise, Pavan and Manassero occupy respectively
the sixth, seventh and eighth place on the Road to Majorca, the
Challenge Tour's Order of Merit.
Already certian of getting onto the DP TOur, therefore, they
will be aiming to win the tournament.
For Laporta, who is 15th, the jump up to the premier category
also looks like a formality.
