Applause greeted the Pope's entrance
Friday into the room of the G7 session dedicated to Artificial
Intelligence, Energy, Africa and the Mediterranean, open to the
countries and international outreach organisations invited to
the summit in Puglia.
Francis entered in his wheelchair, accompanied on his left by
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and went around the huge oval
table greeting the leaders one by one.
He then took a seat in the centrally positioned chair, with
Meloni at his side on the left and President Emmanuel Macron of
France on the right.
It is the first time a pope has attended a G7 summit.
