National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor
Giovanni Melillo, national anti-mafia prosecutor said Saturday a
major Milan mafia probe into database snooping in which
Luxottica boss Leonardo Del Vecchio's son Leonardo Maria and
banker Matteo Arpe are under investigation had revealed a
gigantic and alarming market of confidential data.
"This investigation allows us to connect some dots and better
understand this gigantic market of confidential information with
entrepreneurial dimension in the acquisition of confidential
information, he said after six people were arrested Friday.
Addressing press conference on the investigation by the Milan
DDA anti-mafia investigative directorate and the DNA national
anti-mafia and anti-terror office, Melillo spoke of an "alarming
affair".
