Left-wing Italian university students
on Tuesday hung a mannequin of Elon Musk upside down in Piazzale
Loreto, the Milan square where Benito Mussolini's boy was
similarly desecrated in 1945, amid a row over an alleged Fascist
salute the world's richest man made at the inauguration of
President Donald Trump Monday.
The Tesla, X and SpaceX boss, set to co-run a new government
efficiency department for Trump, made two stiff-armed salutes at
the Capitol Arena after Trump's inaugural address for his second
term.
Responding to a storm of criticism of the two gestures, Musk
said "frankly they need better dirty tricks.The 'everyone is
Hitler' attack is soo tired".
After stringing the mannequin upside down in the infamous
Milanese square, the student collective 'Cambiare rotta' (Change
Course) said on social media: "There's always room in Piazzale
Loreto, Elon...".
The mannequin, made with a sack and with the face of the
billionaire cut out and stuck on, was hung upside down on a gate
in Piazzale Loreto.
