Italian police are quizzing a
Sardinian photojournalist on the veracity of a report he filed
in an Italian news magazine Friday on the alleged death in a
Colombian clinic of the last fugitive Cosa Nostra boss Giovanni
Motisi, judicial sources said Saturday.
On behalf of the Palermo prosecutor's office, the police are
interviewing, in Sardinia, photojournalist Antonello Zappadu who
published in Gente the news of Motisi's death.
The prosecutor's office investigating the fugitive status of
Motisi, sentenced to life imprisonment for the 1985 murder of
the former head of the Palermo Flying Squad Ninni Cassarà, is
conducting investigations to understand whether the information
in Zappadu's possession is true.
