Carabinieri police have carried out
an international operation against drug trafficking that led to
the arrest of 27 people, investigative sources said on
Wednesday.
Rome Carabinieri police conducted the operation after the arrest
warrants were issued by a preliminary investigations judge (GIP)
at the request of DDA anti-mafia investigators in Italy, Albania
and Spain.
According to investigators, the SPRAR centre for asylum seekers
and refugees in Rome's Via della Riserva Nuova was allegedly
used by the criminal organization to stock drugs and recruit
Nigerian migrants with a temporary residence permit as drug
traffickers.
