Pope Francis is continuing to call
the parish church of Gaza when he can as he battles pneumonia at
Rome's Agostino Gemelli hospital, the parish priest of the Holy
Family Church in the Gaza Strip, Father Gabriel Romanelli, said
in a video sent to ANSA on Wednesday.
The pope has been calling practically every afternoon since the
start of the war, he said, expressing commotion and gratitude.
"As parish church of the Holy Family in Gaza we are happy and
moved in hearing his voice, which gives us comfort", said Father
Romanelli.
"It is a blessed call", a "great joy, also in the midst of many
trials, to know that, in spite of his delicate state of health,
the Holy Father is continuing to think and pray for everybody
and for peace in Gaza and, at the same time, he is also
continuing to thanks us for our constant prayers", said the
parish priest.
