State attorneys in the Sicilian city
of Catania on Wednesday opened an investigation into an
explosion that caused the collapse of a building in the district
of San Giovanni Galermo.
Chief prosecutor Francesco Curcio told ANSA that State attorneys
are investigating on possible culpable disaster charges,
stressing that "the probe is still ongoing".
Six people were hospitalized following the blast, believed to
have been caused by a gas leak.
One person who was initially reported missing was later found
after he had left the premises.
Prosecutors Fabio Scavone and Emanuele Vadalà are in charge of
the case.
