Institutions, associations and
Italian winemakers line up together at the first edition of
Vinitaly.USA, the b2b event scheduled October 20-21 at the Navy
Pier in Chicago. Organized by Veronafiere and Fiere Italiane
with the support of ITA-Italian Trade Agency and collaboration
with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,
Vinitaly.USA aims to become a landmark business event for
promoting Italian wine and matching supply and demand.
The President of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo, said: "The
collaboration network that Veronafiere has set in motion with
institutions and the involvement of associations representing
the wine sector (Unione Italiana Vini and Federvini), and
agriculture (Coldiretti, Filiera Italia and Confagricoltura) is
an effective example of virtuous promotion on the US market. The
presence in Chicago of Minister Francesco Lollobrigida, the
Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Riccardo
Guariglia, the legal advisor to Minister Tajani, Marco Rago,
alongside the President of ITA, Matteo Zoppas, is a clear
demonstration of a team working with companies in a win-win
context."
The inauguration of Vinitaly.USA (Sunday October 20 at 12:00
noon local time) also welcomes important collaboration with the
Italian-American Chamber of Commerce for the Midwest-Chicago. It
offers buyers more than 230 Italian wineries presenting more
than 1650 labels for tasting, as well as regional collectives
(Calabria, Campania, Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, Latium and
Sardinia), in addition to institutional attendance by the Veneto
and Umbria Regions). There will be the following speakers:
Federico Bricolo, President of Veronafiere; Maurizio Muzzetta,
President of Fiere Italiane; Damiano Tommasi, Mayor of Verona;
Francesco Lollobrigida, Minister of Agriculture, Food
Sovereignty and Forestry; J.B. Pritzker, Governor of Illinois;
Matteo Zoppas, President of ITA; Riccardo Guariglia, Secretary
General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Maco Rago, legal advisor
to Minister Tajani; Mario Pozza, President of Assocamerestero;
Fulvio Calcinardi, Secretary General of the Italian-American
Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest-Chicago; Francesco Rocca,
President of the Latium Region; Robert Allegrini, President of
NIAF (National Italian American Foundation). Sector
organizations will also attend: Unione Italiana Vini and
Federvini with their respective presidents Lamberto Frescobaldi
and Micaela Pallini, joined by agricultural representatives
Ettore Prandini, President of Coldiretti, Luigi Scordamaglia,
President of Filiera Italia, and Annamaria Barrile, CEO of
Confagricoltura, alongside the deputy CEO of Banco Popolare di
Sondrio, Mario Erba, and Paolo Barletta, CEO of Arsenale S.p.A.
and Gruppo Barletta. The event will also be attended by Maurizio
Danese, Managing Director of Veronafiere, with Vice-Presidents
Matteo Gelmetti and Romano Artoni, and CEO Adolfo Rebughini.
On Sunday 20 October, the Vinitaly Facebook channel will host
live streaming of the inauguration of the first edition of the
exhibition from 12 noon (local time) followed at 4pm by live
broadcast of the ITA Wine Business Forum "Between tradition and
innovation: the future of Italian wine on the US market",
developed by the ITA Agency in collaboration with NABI (National
Association of Beverage Importers). It will feature reports by
analysts and the main players in supply and demand fields.
