The first concert in Tunisia by the talented pianist Umberto Ruboni was sold out yesterday in the splendid setting of the Ennajma Ezzahra Palace in Sidi Bou Said, home of the Centre of Arab and Mediterranean Musics (Cmam).
An event supported by the Italian Cultural Institute in Tunis that, according to the Italian Ambassador to Tunisia, Alessandro Prunas, underlines how 'music is an instrument of dialogue'. The setlist included a fascinating musical journey through pieces by composers such as Scarlatti, Grieg, Chopin, Liszt and the contemporary Tunisian musician Aymen Aziz Salah, in a varied mosaic that moved the many people present. Ruboni, who was born in Genoa in 1996, is Artist in Residence at the Ingesund Piano Center in Arvika (Sweden), the Swedish Piano Academy par excellence led by Julia Mustonen-Dahlkvist. Having graduated with honours and mention at the Conservatorio 'G. Verdi' in Milan, he divided his musical training between the Conservatories of Alessandria and Milan, as well as the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and the Accademia di Pinerolo, among others.
