pirelli's role in Formula 1, whose tyres ensure top performance throughout the races, was the theme of a lecture given at the Italian Embassy in Singapore by Mario Isola, Director of Pirelli Motorsport. On the occasion of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Italian Embassy hosted the initiative in its 'Italy Room', during which Isola reiterated Pirelli's commitment to innovation, with particular reference to the new 18-inch tyre model presented during last year's Singapore Grand Prix, designed for the circuit's difficult asphalt conditions.
The Italian Ambassador to Singapore, Dante Brandi, then thanked the Italian companies operating in the mechanical engineering sector, such as Pirelli, DZ Engineering and Brembo, which export Italian excellence to every race.
The Ambassador then recalled the strategic importance of strong relations between Italy and Singapore in the academic world, which lay the foundations for solid collaborations and strategic partnerships between the two countries.
Finally, during the event, the centrality of the organisation of exchanges and cooperation initiatives between prestigious Italian universities, such as Politecnico di Milano, Università Bocconi, Liuc and Università Cattolica, all part of the Dual (Distinguished University Alumni League) organisation, and their Singaporean counterparts was emphasised. The joint activity of the university world promotes the consolidation of strong links between academic institutions, diplomatic initiatives and the labour market between Italy and Singapore.
