The Ambassador of Italy Paolo Palminteri met with the Minister of Justice of North Macedonia Igor Filkov, with whom he discussed the priorities of the Macedonian administration in the judicial field and their fundamental role in the country's path towards European integration.
Minister Filkov - the Embassy reported in a note - confirmed that the Ministry remains committed to the implementation of the reform programme that is essential not only for the country's rapprochement to European law, but also for the general strengthening of the judicial system, the rule of law and the effectiveness of the judiciary and judicial procedures in the country.
Ambassador Palminteri, for his part, reiterated his willingness to intensify institutional cooperation in the area of justice, which in recent years has seen the implementation of several initiatives under Italian leadership aimed at promoting good governance, strengthening the fight against corruption and increasing the transparency of judicial structures.
