The Fucino Space Centre in the central
Italian region of Abruzzo will play host to a control centre for
the Iris2 multi-orbit satellite internet constellation set to be
deployed by the European Union by 2027, Business and Made in
Italy Minister Adolfo Urso said on Monday.
During a visit to the centre organized Telespazio
(Leonardo-Thales) and Leonardo, Urso said the the new centre
will be funded by a 50-million-euro investment and create about
200 new jobs, "effectively double the current Space Centre
workforce".
