Italy is increasingly in the
crosshairs of cyber criminals, according to figures from the
Clusit Annual Report out Wednesday.
In 2023, serious attacks grew by 65%, while in the rest of the
world by 12%; more than half had consequences of critical or
high severity.
Within a multiple war scenario, the report said, attacks with a
hacktivism matrix almost tripled globally, and 47% occurred
against Italy.
"Two billion people will be voting in 2024, and with AI comes
issues of ethics, information security and an appropriate
industrial policy that should focus on investment in
technology," said Gabriele Faggioli, president of Clusit, the
Italian association for IT security.
