Italy's world number one Jannik Sinner beat German Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Sunday to retain the Australian Open men's singles title.
It is the 23-year-old's third Grand Slam victory as he also won the 2024 US Open.
Sinner sealed the triumph by smashing home a winner into an open court after he pulled the second-ranked Zverev to the net with a sweet drop shot.
He didn't concede a break point to the German on Sunday and dropped only two sets in the entire tournament, despite having to come back from a medical scare when he suffered a bad turn in his win over Denmark Holger Rune in the last 16.
The victory takes his total number of ATP Tour titles up to 18.
He also led Italy to glory in the Davis Cup in 2023 and 2024.
