Atalanta are three points behind
Serie A leaders and champions Inter after thrashing Empoli 5-0
away from home on Sunday.
Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman, who coach Gian Piero Gasperini
said was the worst penalty taker he had ever seen after he
missed a spot-kick in last week's defeat to Club Brugge in the
Champions League playoffs, notched a double in a win that puts
the Bergamo side on 54 points from 26 games.
Mateo Retegui and Davide Zappacosta were also on target for the
Europa League champions, who had taken the lead via an Emmanuel
Gyasi own goal.
Inter are top with 57 points after a 1-0 win at Genoa while
Napoli dropped to second with a 2-1 defeat at Como.
Juventus consolidated fourth place, which is good for Italy's
last spot in next season's Champions League, with a 1-0 victory
at Cagliari.
