Pope Francis on Friday lauded the
late dean of Milan's Cattolica University, Franco Anelli, the
61-year-old lawyer, jurist and academic who committed suicide by
throwing himself from his sixth-floor flat in the centre of the
northern city early in the day.
In a telegram to the Catholic university, Francis expressed his
"closeness to his mother, relatives and the entire university
family".
The Argentine pontiff Francis emphasised Professor Anelli's
commitment "to the promotion of Christian values in the
university sphere, favouring dialogue with the new generations".
