Fiat said Thursday its 500 hybrid
would arrive earlier than previously announced, towards the end
of 2025.
Olivier Francois, CEO of Fiat and global head of marketing at
Stellantis, said Stellantis was bringing forward the timing for
the new Fiat 500 hybrid to be produced at the historic Mirafiori
plant.
The debut is now expected between late 2025 and early 2026.
The hybrid model will flank the Fiat 500e, also designed,
engineered, and engineered at Mirafiori.
Fiat also unveiled a new special edition: the Fiat 500e
Mirafiori, which aims to "celebrate the workers and Mirafiori 50
years after the debut of the 131 Mirafiori in 1974".
Some 500 of them will be made, available only in Italy from this
summer.
