Istat said Friday that Italy's
inflation rate for 2023, measured by the HICP index excluding
the prices of imported energy, was 6.9%, 0.1 of a percentage
point lower that the preliminary estimate the national
statistics agency gave in December.
This is the rate used for the purposes of the renewal of
collective labour contracts.
Istat said it forecasts that the average inflation rate for 2024
will be 1.9%, and then come in at 2.0% in 2025, 2026 and 2027.
