The Group of Seven prìvacy summit
ended Friday by stressing the importance of Artificial
Intelligence focusing on persons and the Constitution.
"Artificial Intelligence and a reflection on rights and freedoms
were the glue of these three days of work. "The guiding
principle of the Authority is to put the person at the center
and respect for the Constitution", said the final reflection of
the G7 of Privacy guarantors, conveyed in the concluding press
conference of Pasquale Stanzione, President of the Guarantor for
the protection of personal data and Ginevra Cerrina Feron, vice
president.
"(There can be) no opposition to progress as long as it is
accompanied by the sharing of our regulatory principles," they
underlined, "and artificial intelligence and new technologies
must not be the source of new injustices and excessive
concentrations of public-private power.
"On this", they added, "we have found broad convergence in these
days of the G7".
Finally, the role and independence that the Privacy Authorities
must have in the "governance of AI, regardless of political
choices" to ensure "neutrality and impartiality" was underlined.
