A cyber snooping gang that allegedly
complied secret dossiers on commission on top business,
political and entertainment figures also spied on magistrates
and prefects, according to court papers released Tuesday.
In a wiretapped conversation in January 2023, some alleged
members of the dossier gang, including hackers Giulio Cornelli
and Nunzio Calamucci, "discuss the implementation of the D.B.",
or "the internal archive of the group also containing police
information", with the "data of all the Prefects and
Magistrates", said a report from the Carabinieri of the
Investigative Unit of Varese.
The system is "able to detect the data present in specific Excel
files" and "'fishes' for the data", the report said.
In the wiretap, the interlocutors search for a series of names
of magistrates or former magistrates, in particular from the
Milan Public Prosecutor's Office.
