The mother of a 13-year-old girl who
died on October 25 after allegedly falling from the eighth floor
of her apartment building in Piacenza was "relieved" to hear her
boyfriend, aged 15, had been arrested on Monday afternoon in
connection with her death, the family's attorney Lorenza Dordoni
said on Tuesday.
In recent days the 22-year-old sister of the victim, Aurora,
said on social media she did not believe her sister had
committed suicide or had fallen from the balcony in an accident.
"The mother cried and said she considers her suspicions to be
confirmed now", said Dordoni after the teen's arrest.
Autopsy results are expected in the coming days but an external
examination of the teen's body revealed an important head injury
which will be analysed by forensic experts to determine whether
it is compatible with the impact of a fall or whether it could
have been determined by other causes, like a previous trauma,
investigative sources said.
The exam was carried out on Monday afternoon in Pavia by a
pathologist appointed by Bologna juvenile prosecutor Giovanni
Cecchetto who has ordered other tests, including a CT scan and
genetic tests.
Meanwhile investigative sources and press reports said eye
witnesses, including a teen girl, had reportedly contacted
Autora's family saying they had seen her being abused by her
boyfriend prior to her death.
In one instance, a witness said she saw the girl on October 4
being shoved by a boy, later identifying her as the victim,
while Rome daily Repubblica reported that a video was filmed
showing the 15-year-old boyfriend hitting Aurora.
