An intense week of work at the Italian Embassy in Washington ended on Saturday, in parallel with the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank and the annual Gala of the National Italian American Foundation (Niaf), scheduled for the evening.
"The annual meeting of consular coordination and promotion of Sistema Italia in the United States is an appointment that has now become traditional, of great usefulness and importance, because it allows all the players in our network to compare tools and working methods, discuss the challenges and opportunities we face, and systemise ideas, proposals, and good practices. With a single goal: to make Italy even stronger in this country,' commented the Italian Ambassador to the United States, Mariangela Zappia.
The three-day event, which began last Thursday, was attended by all the components of the Italian System in the USA: Consuls General, elected representatives of Italians abroad (parliamentarians elected in the foreign constituency, Cgie and Comites), directors of Ice offices, directors of the Italian Cultural Institutes, representatives of the Bank of Italy, scientific attachés at our consulates, and the director of Innov.it. As well as Embassy officials and attachés and representatives of the Chambers of Commerce present in the United States. Alongside the consular coordination and promotion meetings of Sistema Italia, yesterday the Embassy also hosted the presentation of the 'Strategic Study on Development Opportunities in the USA for Italian Businesses' and the 'Italy - US Tech Business & Investment Matching Initiative', confirming the front-line commitment of our representation in the American capital and of the entire network in the promotion of Italian businesses in America.
The events of the last few days, to which was added today the passage of the historic cars of the 1000 Miglia to the Embassy with the final stage of the 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA 2024, follow Tuesday's event on the reconstruction of Ukraine in the presence of the Minister of Finance of Kyiv and the concert of the Guardia di Finanza band to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the corps, both hosted at the iconic headquarters designed by architect Piero Sartogo.
