It is not easy to follow Christ but
only He has "the words of life," Pope Francis said in his weekly
Angelus prayer Sunday.
"Jesus's choices often go beyond common mentality, beyond the
very canons of institutional religion and traditions, to the
point of creating provocative and embarrassing situations," he
said.
"It is not easy to follow Him.
"And yet, among the many masters of that time, Peter and the
other Apostles found only in Him an answer to the thirst for
life, joy, and love that animates them; only thanks to Him did
they experience the fullness of life that they sought, beyond
the limits of sin and even death.
"So they do not leave: instead, apart from one, even amid many
lapses and repentance, they will stay with Him to the end".
