The Vatican said on Tuesday that
"Pope Francis rested well throughout the night," at Rome's
Gemelli Hospital.
The Vatican press office had said on Monday that the condition
of the 88-year-old Argentine pontiff had shown a slight
improvement after he was said to be critical following
respiratory crises on Saturday.
Francis was admitted to the hospital on February 14 and is being
treated for bronchitis and double pneumonia.
A health update last week said that he also had mild renal
insufficiency, adding that this appears to be under control.
