Rome's Chief Rabbi Riccardo Di Segni
criticised what Italian Partisans association ANPI has become on
Monday, International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Italy's Jews have been at odds with ANPI over the latter's
stance on Israel and the Milanese Jewish Community snubbed a
Remembrance Day event in the city due to ANPI having described
the war in Gaza as a genocide.
"Today's ANPI is no longer the ANPI of yesteryear," Di Segni
said on the sidelines of a Remembrance Day ceremony in Rome..
"There are very few of the Partisans of old.
"I am the son of a decorated Partisan, and I had an ANPI card
too.
"ANPI is a galaxy of realities.
"Some ANPI leaders have forgotten their institutional aims and
are conducting battles that they do not realise contradict their
institutional aims and this creates a problem".
