Pope Francis will dialogue with famous international artists on the universal power of art as an instrument of unity and hope in the documentary 'Preachers of Beauty: A Spiritual Journey Through Art and Faith' whose production was announced this week in Rome by Andrea Iervolino and Luis Quinelli, together with Tatatu and the Vitae Global Foundation.
Shooting will begin in March and will take place in one of the most iconic and spiritually significant places in the world: the Sistine Chapel, in the heart of the Vatican.
The exceptional project was officially confirmed on Monday, January 20, after a private audience with Pope Francis in the library of the Apostolic Palace, second loggia of the Courtyard of San Damaso, in Vatican City.
"'Preachers of Beauty' is not just a documentary, but a spiritual call to embrace the transformative power of art. I believe that art, in its purest form, can transcend all cultural and religious barriers, becoming a universal language of hope and peace. It is an invitation to rediscover beauty and spread light in a world that desperately needs it," said Andrea Iervolino, founder of Tatatu and Taic.
"This project was born from a deep desire to show how art can reflect the greatness of creation and bring souls closer together. Pope Francis inspires us to see art as a vehicle of unity, a bridge between heaven and earth, capable of generating positive changes in everyone's hearts. With 'Preachers of Beauty', we want to convey a message of universal love and renewed hope," added Luis Quinelli, founder of Vitae.
"Preachers of Beauty" presents itself as a unique work, capable of deeply touching the human spirit and carrying forward the message of Pope Francis: an invitation to build a more beautiful world through acts of kindness, creativity and dialogue".
