The Lower House on Tuesday rejected a
no confidence motion filed against Tourism Minister Daniela
Santanchè after she was indicted for alleged false accounting at
her former Visibilia publishing company.
Santanche earlier told the House debate she might consider
resigning if she is also indicted for allegedly defrauding
pensions and social security agency INPS over her use of COVID
redundancy funds at the company.
As expected, given the strength of the government, the motion
was easily defeated, by 206 votes to 134 with one abstention.
